On Saturday May 5, at St. Eugene's Basilica in Rome, 35 Opus Dei faithful received priestly ordination by the hands of Prelate Msgr. Javier Echevarría.

A majority of the new priests finished their studies at our University or in the University of Navarre's Ecclesiastical schools .

On Friday, May 18 (11:35, Álvaro del Portillo Hall) the School of Theology will hold its XXII Closing Ceremony for the Baccalaureate Cycle. As in past years, students will receive both a certificate and a commemorative photograph.

On Wednesday May 9, the day seminar "Windows Open on Mystery: The Thought of Jean Daniélou" took place. It was organized in collaboration with the "Fraternità San Carlo."

To delve more deeply into the Second Vatican Council's teachings according to the "hermeneutics of reform," called for by Benedict XVI and place them in service of the New Evangelization: this is the objective, in view of the Year of Faith beginning in October, which the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross' upcoming International Conference will seek to accomplish. Organized by the School of Theology, the Conference is scheduled for May 3 to 4 and will consider the "Second Vatican Council: The Reform's Enduring Value for the New Evangelization."

From April 26 to 27, the Conference held by the School of Canon Law on the theme "Discretion of Judgment and Capacity to Assume: The Formulation of Canon 1095." took place.

Faith-filled stories  and credible witnesses are the keys to effective communications in the Church. "Social Media Manager" is likewise a new profession for those working  in Church institutions. Closed the 8th Professional Seminar on Church Communications Offices, which took place from April 16 to 18th.

On Monday, April 16 a ceremony took place conferring the "Antonio Jannone" Award to Prof. Terence Henry Irwin, a Professor of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Oxford. Professor held a conference on: "La filosofia morale di Aristotele si fonda su un errore?"

From April 16-20, Prof. Irwin will teach a 10-lesson course entitled Self-love and Conscience: Aristotle and Others (16:50-18:30, Room 307).

The academic community of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross offers its heartfelt prayers for the Holy Father, Benedict XVI, on his 85º birthday (April 16) and the 7º anniversary of his election as Pope (April 19).
