Schools and Centers
The Pontifical University of the Holy Cross currently has four Schools: Theology, Canon Law, Philosophy and Church Communications, offering all three cycles of University curriculum and awarding degrees of Bachelor's, Licentiate and Doctorate.
These degrees have full canonical recognition, and civil recognition in many countries.
Under the tutelage of the School of Theology, the Higher Institute of Religious Studies “all’Apollinare” (ISSRA) was established in 1986 as an integral part of the University.
The Institute has a specific didactic methodology, which offers the traditional forms of teaching (lessons, written assignments, oral examinations) in a flexible form, suited to those who for geographical, professional or family reasons are unable to attend an Institute that requires daily attendance.
The University has an esteemed Department of Languages, which co-ordinates teaching of both classic and modern languages. In addition, Santa Croce’s interdisciplinary Center for Priestly Formation provides a systematic pastoral and spiritual formation.
