35 Opus Dei Priests ordained for service to the Church

On Saturday May 5, at St. Eugene's Basilica in Rome, 35 Opus Dei faithful received priestly ordination by the hands of Prelate Msgr. Javier Echevarría.

A majority of the new priests finished their studies at our University or in the University of Navarre's Ecclesiastical schools .

Three of the newly ordained--Kazimierz Ginter (Poland), Giovanni Zaccaria (Italy) and Fernando López Arias (Spain)--currently attend the Institute of Liturgy.

Concluding his homily, which spoke of how "God is bigger than our hearts,"  Msgr. Echevarría invited all present to pray "with gratitude and affection" for the Pope, the Bishops, all priests and deacons, and for candidates to the priesthood around the world. In example, he offered the prayer of St. Josemaría: "Pray for the priests of today, and for those who are to come, that they may really love their fellow men, every day more and without distinction, and that they may know also how to make themselves loved by them."
