Students from the University of Missouri-Columbia's School of Journalism were hosted by the School of Communications January 16-20, on the Roman stop of their "Europe Tour 2013." In addition to the University, they visited Vatican Radio, St. Peter's Basilica, and the Vatican Museums

Prof. Luc-Thomas Somme O.P. from the Institut Catolique de Toulouse spoke on the topic, Is St. Thomas' Treatise on the Passions useful for theological reflection?

On Wednesday, January 9, the School of Canon Law celebrated the Feast of St. Raymond of Penyafort, their Academic Patron. There was Holy Mass at 9:30 in the St. Apollinare Basilica. Afterwards Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi, President of the Prefecture for the Economic Affairs of the Holy See, spoke about The Capacity to Marry in the Magisterium of Benedict XVI.

It was not with the timelessness of myth that Jesus came to be born among us. He belongs to a time that can be precisely dated and a geographical area that is precisely defined: here the universal and the concrete converge. It was in him that the Logos, the creative logic behind all things, entered the world. The eternal Logos became man: the context of place and time is part of this. Faith attaches itself to this concrete reality, even if the resurrection then bursts open the categories of time and space, as the risen Lord, going before the disciples into Galilee (cf. Mt 28:7), opens up a pathway into the vast expanse of humanity (cf. Mt 28:16ff).

The volumes were edited by N.J. Cappelørn and published by the Søren Kierkegaard Forskningscenteret of the University of Copenhagen.

On Saturday, December 1, in St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican, students from pontifical universities in Rome met the Holy Father Benedict XVI for the First Vespers of Advent.

The meeting was opened by the Vicar Cardinal Agostino Vallini, who guided the preparatory prayer along with the reception of the the icon of Mary Sedes Sapientiae and the participants' renewal of faith at the tomb of St. Peter.
