The practical result of this work for library patrons is an improved catalog search, based on the Dewey Decimal System. Through this method, it is possible to better locate books in specific areas of interest. Further, once a book with Dewey  classification is found, other similar books are also easier to locate.

Currently, the Dewey System has been assigned to around 60 thousand documents. It is a particularly important development for books in the School of Institutional Social Communications, since this School's documents are organized using the homonym system.
