Biography of Msgr. F. Ocáriz
and Msgr. M. Fazio

"God has not abandoned us and he will not", is one of the passages from the letter that Bishop Anthony Borwah, from the Diocese of Gbarnga (Liberia) and alumni of Communications (class 2001), wrote addressed to us just days ago.

Mons. Borwah recounts his experience from one of the territories hit by a wave of Ebola, “that has decimated families and entire populations”.  Just for this reason, he could not participate in the Synod on the family last October, though he was the designated representative for the Bishops’ Conference of Liberia.

His same spiritual advisor, the Spanish missionary Miguel Pajares, died last August in Spain after having contracting the virus while working as a medic in the Hospital of Monrovia.

In the meantime, his diocese is doing what is possible to fight the virus, such as campaigns providing information and education on health, but also through prayer: till November 30, in every church, the Holy Rosary is offered for this intention.

The academic community of the Holy Cross assures its concern for the populations stuck by Ebola and unites with them in prayer.

Testimony of Mons. Borwah released to CNS
