According to the purposes of the Faculty of Theology, the course of the first cycle presents, in a spirit of ecclesial communion, a complete exposition of Catholic theology in order to highlight the unity of the theological disciplines. In each of the three years of the course are present all the basic disciplines of theology: dogma, morals, history, liturgy, biblical exegesis, spiritual and pastoral theology, in addition to the study of classical and biblical languages. These disciplines are structured along the six semesters in order to gradually lead the students to a deeper and unified understanding of the mystery of Christ, which also allows to find in the Incarnation of the Word the timeless foundation of the transformation of man and the world. The first cycle ends with the Bachelor's Degree in Theology, after a final examination.

Il 5 febbraio 2016, nella cornice del Convegno Internazionale Il celibato sacerdotale, un cammino di libertà, organizzato dalla Pontificia Università Gregoriana, il prof. Laurent Touze ha tenuto una relazione su: La sfida di una vita spirituale autentica per un celibato libero e animato un workshop su questa tematica.
Dall'1 al 5 febbraio 2016, su iniziativa del Centro di Formazione Sacerdotale, si svolge la IV Settimana di studio per formatori di Seminari, sul tema La formazione spirituale dei candidati al sacerdozio.
Papa Francesco ha nominato Esarca Apostolico per i Cattolici di rito bizantino in Grecia il Rev.do Archimandrita Manuel Nin, O.S.B., finora Rettore del Pontificio Collegio Greco a Roma, e docente del nostro Dipartimento, elevandolo in pari tempo alla sede titolare vescovile di Carcabia.
