Álvaro del Portillo, Bishop Prelate of Opus Dei and first Grand Chancellor of the University, was beatified September 27 in Madrid, his birthplace, amidst faithful from eighty different countries.
Currently, follow-up events are scheduled to take place in Rome, including the transfer of his body in the Basilica Sant’Eugenio and a general audience in Piazza San Pietro.
