On Monday, June 18, in the presence of H.E. Msgr. Javier Echevarría, Bishop and Prelate of Opus Dei, a ceremony took place to mark the opening of the Process of Beatification and Canonization of Dora del Hoyo, the first numerary assistant of Opus Dei.

Dora del Hoyo was born on January 11,1914, inBoca de Huergano (Leon, Spain). After work

ing as housing staff for different families in Madrid, she began to practice her profession inLa Moncloa, a residence for university students promoted by Opus Dei.

There she had the opportunity to learn and live the spirit of sanctification of ordinary work, proper to Opus Dei, and St. Josemaria, the founder.
