Joaquín Navarro-Valls

Joaquín Navarro-Valls (Cartagena, Spain). From 1984 to 2006 he was Director of the Press Office of the Holy See .

Doctor of medicine (with a specialization in psychiatry), he also has a degree in Journalism in 1968 and in Communication Sciences in 1980. He has worked in communications since he was a director of the cultural magazine Diagonal Barcelona (1964). Correspondent in Italy and in the Mediterranean basin for the Spanish newspaper ABC from 1977 to 1984, he chaired at that time, the Foreign Press Association in Italy.

Author of several books, including "La Manipulación publicitaria" (1970) , " Familia y educación " (1978) , "Fumata blanca" (1978) and "A passo d'uomo" (2009) .

Since 1994 he was a member of the Delegation of the Holy See in different international conferences.

Since 1996 he is visiting professor in the School of Church Communications at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Rome.

Since January 2007 he has been Chairman of the Advisory Board of the University Campus Bio -Medico of Rome.
