This book gives an overview of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross on the twenty-fifth anniversary of its inception. Through the eyes of colleagues, Church figures and former students, without forgetting the benefactors, who with their generosity have made possible the birth and the growth of the University, it focuses on the university’s history, educational and research activities, and a description of the various Schools and the Library.
The nature of the project is outlined in the first pages by the words addressed on the opening day of the first academic year 1984-1985 by then-Chancellor, the Servant of God Bishop Álvaro del Portillo, words that would remain as a programmatic declaration indicative of the Institution’s identity.
