On Saturday, February 18, 2012, the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross has received the gift of a painting owned by the German scientist Sandra Mary Wehrle (1914-2011), as a symbol of charity and support that she has given to our university.

Dr. Wehrle has contributed with a generous donation to the Documental and interdisciplinary Center of Science and Faith, sponsored by the University of the Holy Cross in Rome. The center is part of a project that has promoted the making of a web site that study the relationship between science and faith (www.disf.org), and the training of researchers and professors in this field.

The photograph shows Klaus Klein-Schmeink, who traveled to Rome as a representative of the German foundation of friends and benefactors of the university (FFPUSC), as he hands the picture to Rev. Prof. Giuseppe Tanzella-Nitti, Director of DISF. The painting will be placed in one of the offices of our university as a reminder of Ms. Wehrle and as sign of our gratitude filled with prayers.
