“Higher Education in Church History: Schools, Teachers And Methods,” Theology Faculty Congress

From March 9 to 10, 2016, on the initiative of the Department of Church History, part of the Theology Faculty, a Congress titled Higher Education in Church History: Schools, Teachers And Methods, took place.

The organizers explain that the goal of the conference was to retrace all history “in which the meeting between Christianity and culture was a harbinger of intellectual, cultural, political and social development.”

“Besides pinpointing some of the highlights and important figures, we tried to identify new opportunities for reflections and avenues of research not yet trodden down, through interdisciplinary work done by historians and theologians.”

Speakers included: Marco Rizzi, from the University of the Sacred Heart, François-Xavier Putallaz, from the University of Fribourg, and as well as many professors from the Holy Cross.
