Discussion on the encyclical 'Laudato Si': "Ecological Conversion And Fighting Hunger"
Thursday, October 29, 2015, the University - in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Holy See to FAO, WFP and IFAD - has organized a discussion on Ecological Conversion And Fighting Hunger. For sustainable agricultural the encyclical Laudato Si will be a point of reference.
The scope of the event was to reflect on problems afflicting the fight against hunger, and doing so in light of Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si. Those in the discussion range from employees of international institutions to representatives of the Holy See, as well as diplomats and professors.
Participants included: Manoj Juneja, executive vice director of WFP, Msgr. Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, Secretary for the Pontifical Council Cor Unum, Ambassador Pierfrancesco Sacco, permanent representative of Italy to FAO, WFP and IFAD, Rev. Arturo Bellocq, professor of Church Social Doctrine at the Santa Croce University.
The discussion concluded with Msgr. Fernando Chica Arellano, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to FAO, WFP and IFAD.
